Title: Series 1 of Twin Peaks
Post by: Walrusbonzo on March 04, 2007, 12:50:21 PM
Just finished watching series one of Twin Peaks, gripping stuff.  Anyone else here seen it?

When I was about 8 I remember my sister used to watch it and Id get hooked by the title music, but I never watched it as my sister said Id not understand it.

Well, 16 years on Im finally getting around to watching it and its bloody good!

I am prone to way lyrical about Lynch on occasion, but I do honestly think Twin Peaks was one of the greatest TV shows in history.

Twin Peaks is marvelous. You just have to ignore the fact that its a battle of atmosphere over plot. Soundtrack is mainly Julie Cruise (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julie_Cruise) collaboration stuff.

Dont forget the Cherry Pie! :D

If you havent seen Blue Velvet, its a more compact introduction to David Lynch. :P

Dune really isnt indicative of the things that make Lynch so wonderful. And as good as the Elephant Man is the same can be said of that. Check out Eraserhead if you want to see a multitude of reasons that make him one of the best writers/producers/directors in the industry today.

Haha, I played a gig where we performed Falling by Julie Cruise with a female vocalist. Read up on Lynch and watched the film of Twin Peaks.

One of the weirdest things Ive seen :D If the TV Show is in the same vain, Ill have to look for a torrent :)

Note the film "Twin Peaks" and not Fire Walk With Me. Is actually the same story and the TV series with a vastly different ending.

Just noted on Amazon that the second season is due for release at the begining of April...touch.

I saw it when it was on the tube years ago but now it is surfacing again, it was added  on my usual torrent source just a few days ago.

Blue velvet is a great flick.

Gah stop it! I really want to watch it now but cant transport it from work HDD to home because my memory stick is full of frasier (I like it shush!) and my power supply for my work lappy is in a guitar case at our studio (dont ask...).

I wonder if anyone would notice if I just ripperd the HDD out of my work PC when I go.......

How is everyone else getting on with this? Im halfway through Season 2. Loving it, its gripping stuff, and getting very surreal  :D

If Coop doesnt pull through all thats getting thrown at him I will be saddened. No one spoil it for me though!

I finished watching it all the other night. I enjoyed series 2 as well, but was deeply disappointed - almost on a spiritual level - with the finale.
