well, its happened. about two weeks after I asked Kris why they dont stock shuttles anymore (he said unreliability) Ive blown a Power Supply.
Im pretty sure the SN25P runs a 350W PSU

but the only spare I seem to be able to get is a 450W PSU and that is 110 before VAT from Komplett.

So I can really see two options right about now.
1. stump the wedge onto a setup Ive never really been mega happy with cos it just didnt feel quick. or
2. Ive got a socket 939 3200+, x1950, two SATA HDs, NEC DVD Re-Writer and 1GB Ram to transplant to another case. anyone got any good ideas?
Matt
Shuttle PSU is standard bar the size, get yourself another regular PC Psu, and run it through the holes in the back.
Ive considered that to be honest, would need the 6 pin connector on the GFX card too, but other than that I guessed that would work.
still interested in other solutions, i like the small form factor idea so if theres anything i could drop the current bits into at not much more than the shuttle psu id investigate that.
Matt
For instance,
whats stopping me from buying this

and moving my bits into it, or the PSU from that into mine?
Matt
ignore that last one, it looks like im going to struggle to find a socket 939 shuttle case right now.

Ive got a sn95g3 v3 with a dead m/b here if youre intrested ?
its not mine, but Im sure my mate will sell if for not a lot more than postage ?
Why not open it up and see for yourself whats the problem, you might get lucky and find out that its just a blown out fuse or capacitors, even blown transistors are easy to replace.

thanks, but it seems to not have the extra 6 pin power line for the gfx card.
:( Matt

..., you just get a little adapret thing for that... one probably came with the card ?
(maybe not... but mine always have... i progbably have a spair one somewhere...)
you can buy "Short" PSUs from a few places now. Im assuming its a standard shaped PSU, but shorter? If so even PC World stock them. If its the long slim PSU then youre best bet is probably ebay, or as said above, pop it open and replace the fuse. The fuse blowing is invariably the problem with PSUs.

the adaptor idea and the fuse thing sound promising, will maybe take a look this weekend and update you all,
meanwhile Ive acquired a HP DL380 G5 and Im trying to turn that into a new desktop, cos it does all the raid and stuff onboard, but im struggling to find a gfx card that will go in it!!!

to be fair, all i can say is "Good Luck". IIRC those are a full-on server case yes? They arent meant to have a Graphics card installed in them, they are meant to crunch larger workloads with nothing fancy going on.
