My internet has been running really slow lately, speedtest reckons 250kilobits, for a 4megabit connection thats lame.
Ive ran adaware (dont know a decent spyware thing, any suggestions?)
I use netlimiter, and its not noting anything strange accessing the internet. Netstat -a shows 4 TCP connections to 192.38.108.208 which I cant really account for. I tried ringing my ISP to check if there were service issues in my area, but he p*****d me off so much by his inability. He basically didnt tell me nothing about my ISP, just tride to make me delete my cookies and temp files, which wasnt what i asked for when i said "are there any service issues in my area which could effect my connection?"
Anyone got any ideas/advice? If not its format time, but i really dont wanna.

those are the details for the IP addy, any idea?
Also bookmark that site, its handy.
Try it with another pc into your router. If you havent got a router (i.e. just an adsl modem), get one.
I know of several people I set up adsl connections with a few years ago who have been having problems with disconnections recently. Even if BT/your ISP havent put you onto ADSL MAX yet, BT are bound to be doing work at the exchange for that which will affect you. If you can show that you still get bad result with other hardware, its time to pester your ISP into pestering BT, which is the only way these things get resolved.
A cheap way of testing if its your Windows install is buy a cheap hard disc, fling it in there and do a fresh install on that, only takes an hour; you dont touch your existing one then.

If you have XP SP2 use Netstat -b to view what processes are connected to where.
