Having nothing better to do yesterday I went to see this with a mate in the early afternoon. In short, I rather enjoyed it.
It has that bit of everything a good movie (of its genre) needs to succeed. Action, Humour, A story with the right cast driving it. On top of that fantastic CGI which thankfully was not overwhelming in how much it was used while being a superhero film and all which inevitably was going to make dependant quite heavily on CGi techniques. I certainly thought the cast was excellent and Kevin Spacey did Lex Luthor very well and raised a smile at times.
I didnt even realise it was a 3 hour film until I looked at my phone when I walked out. Im not the biggest fan of the Superman genre, comics, movies, etc, but I liked the trailer and have heard nothing but positive feedback before I saw it.
I recommend it. 4/5
I thought it was massively overrated. I enjoyed it but it was no way the classic it was hyped to be. For me there was too much style and not enough actual plot, where was the good vs bad battle of wills. A superhero story always needs a super plot by the baddie to take over the world or something. The superidea in this is a bit lame, blatently nicked from Superman 1, and hardly gets a mention. Lex and Clark interact for about 5 minutes if that. Too much Lois being a bitch to Superman, will she take him back, wont she.
I voted 5/10 on imdb.
Not a patch on Batman Begins which was awesome.
Im not as harshly critical as Sam; I wasnt hyped up for it and so I was pleasantly surprised by it. It was nothing amazing but as a standalone affair it stood out pretty well. Agree with him on Lois and the lack of Lex vs Superman interaction though.
Id give it three Clockedtastic w00ts :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:
Above average and enjoyable.

Indeed, I didnt expect it to meet the standards of Batman Begins mind.
Funnily enough Im just watching that on sky movies right now.
Sam is very critical with movies, its not a bad thing tbh.
CGI was not done as say spiderman lots of wireframe on green screen (think a tv show said 5 months of pure green screen work) Which is cool over a pure cgi superman flying.
Spideman 3 has actually took the notes of the cgi concerns from the first 2 films and done a little more wirework, but still a bit to heavy it sounds like.
Thing is with batman begins, it has tbh in my view one of the most explosive actors around at the moment who with a decent script brings the character very much to life.
Cant wait for batman begins with joker, again, good casting and the joker looks set to be properly dark, younger this time, properly insane but very very pyshco in the sense there is that funny aspect but its full of evil elements.
Will be based around this sort of joker:
As it should be(http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/2766/jokerfacedg2.jpg)
