I built my little hillside dwelling last night, then realised today Im directly under the centre of the dome having logged in to see a lot of things had happened! My house is easy to spot, its got the obsidian walls covered in redstone torches, its a good spot actually as its easy to get up and work on the dome from there. Where did the fire by the main base come from?

knighty

that fire was my nephew..... stand back and look down on it..... youll recognise it ;)

I was planning an early night tonight  :gag:  just spent over 2 hours on my mud and wood castle, its getting there now.

I have work tomorrow :( This is far too late to be up but I have made some massive underground tunnels, they have massive stone towers at their entrances, one is a straight line from one sided of the map to the other! I keep getting lost in the one by the arrows, this one does lead back to the tower that is blocking out the sky, but too many routes in there now! Will sort it tomorrow probably! Think I need a compass!

Is the multiplayer map smaller than singleplayer? People keep saying about going from one side to the other, but I was under the impression the map was 3x as big as the earth? (seriously, the cubes are meant to be 1 square metre each, and the map is meant to be so big if you counted the blocks its bigger than the surface area of the earth?!

going offline for 10min..... I need to take the laptop in the garage and blow out the heat sink with compressed air.... its getting a bit hot !  brb]
(no one was on so is a good time to do it)

back up and running, 20C cooler too ;)

Ive got a little something something running, just waiting for the nod to say the port is forwarded.

With the server loaded, and no players its shoing 2% cpu usage.
When the port is forwarded, I can add a couple of people as ops.

Maybe its worth having two servers up, one for crazy op item spawning shenanigans and the other for more serious minecrafting?

I guess it depends if you can go onto different servers and it saves you a different character on each.

I need some guinea pigs.

I concur, the item spawning on Saturday was fun for a while but would certainly get dull. Theres always more enjoyment to be had from having to work for something.

TBH I cant wait until the damage model and monsters work properly so we can do some hardcore survival multiplayer.

At least then we would base camp more often, atm you have free reign to go where ever you want but with zombies and damage enabled people would be more cautious when it gets dark.

Im wondering if map size is based on server power?
The map my server has generated is bigger than the others I have been on, and it has snow and stuff.

and there will be the potential to dispatch adventuring parties to over the hills and far away. twill be epic!

If anyone joins on my server, follow the trees with torches until you see a big tower.

There are some basic stone tools in the chest.
Could do with some mining, doors and more glass.
