20th Century Fox have picked up the rights to make a movie based on The Sims, proving once and for all that when it comes to film rights, movie studios are looking at a franchises bottom line and nothing else. No director or producer has been named, but Brian Lynch will be writing.

a movie of the Sims?

what?

why?

and How?

I mean sure films based on games are historically expected to be bad, but this one actually cant have a plot. Itll be like making a feature length episode of Neighbours! Please God NO!

WTF.

Is this really what the world is coming to, when this utter drivel is going to get screentime?   :disappointed:

It still amazes me the amount of middle aged women who play the sims and buy all the expansion packs.  Its always high up the charts.

If they can tap into only a tiny market share of this with a movie theyll make a fortune.

The movie will no doubt be utter sh*te but theyll make a fortune.
