Quote3 year on-site next business day replacement warranty - direct with Dell UK

All of our Dell monitors are sold with a pixel perfect guarantee for the duration of the warranty period, in the unlikely event your monitor has ANY pixel defect we will arrange for the monitor to be replaced next working day.

Im sure others (here and other forums) will recommend PCBuyit for its warranty.

Theyre the ones I used with my cursed Dell.

Im still not entirely sure what the deal was/is when I returned it to PcBuyIt with the dead pixel, they logged it with Dell as a Power problem, why not log it as a Pixel missing, unless they do something dodgy?

I dont understand why yours didnt goto Dell direct, it tells you on their site to call Dell to arrange the collection and delivery of a new unit within 24 hours.

All you had to do is call Dell, state the details i.e. Shipment number or something from the box and its all on their records, state with them its a dead pixel and they would arrange a replacement

Because:

A: When the pixel occurred, I went on the website, and saw the returns link at the top and followed those instructions regarding contacting them...I didnt think to immediately view the product page, as I went to the logical section of the site for info on returns first.
B: When I finally did go to the product page, the first paragraph is worded to suggest contacting PcBuyIt, only the second paragraph mentions contacting Dell direct.
C: Not having much returns experience, I figured itd be quicker if PcBuyIt had the monitors in stock as theyd swap it out there and then...having had issues swapping our very first TFT when it got dead pixels, even though it says Dell will swap in 24 hours, I dont trust them that much.

Ultimately it made no difference. I got the monitor swapped just as quickly through PCBuyIt as I did the next 2 times when I went to Dell Direct. Note that PCBuyIt didnt just tell me to contact Dell, they sorted it themselves the first time.

And did it not occur to you PCBuyit probably dont hold physical stock, it is simply allocated at the Dell Warehouse and dropshipped direct to the customer ? :P

I could be wrong, but thats how i would do it.

Youre probably right, but hey, Ive no experience in retail other than working in a shop so the thought never crossed my mind that they might have just dropshipped it.

Fact is though, youd have thought theyd update the returns section of their site to specify "If you have a ... product contact ... directly".

still waiting on the delivery date , all they will tell me is =
it was put in for a replacement on the 6th and will take 14 working days . you cannot count the weekends if i am correct ? , if correct it means the 26th at least

it would have been nice to have been informed that my monitor was coming today , next door rang me and said i had a delivery waiting out front . acer said 14 working days , what a bunch of morons they must be . but on the other hand i have a better monitor now i think , the one i sent had a refresh rate of 5ms and the one i got this morning is 2ms :)

If you have received warranty paperwork to fill out with the monitor i would do it, i.e. unless they are on the ball you might end up getting a full warranty again, or they might just continue your original warranty expiration with this replacement.

only thing i do not like about it is that it has no volume control :(
