Early pentium PC, will be likely 1993/94/95
All I remember is I think a robot and a ginger guy, and maybe a lot of green goo.
It was quite bright, not dull and depressing.
It's not one of the 'bigger' games like Sam and Max / Day of the tentacle

I tried having a google for old point and click adventures with a robot, didn't have much luck though.

i was going to suggest rodger wilko space quest. but then his hairs not really red
plus trying to track games down - i used to play one on the pc where you went round a dungeon and up and down ladders and faught blobs and wtiches and montsters but for the life of me cant think what it is. it was all in first person view and had to click to turn left and go foward. that sort of game
There's been loads of those sort, Dungeon Master is the obvious one to spring to mind?
it has the same aspects as the one im on about but doesnt quite hit the nail on the head so either i was playing a really old version or a spin off game hehe :) but it has 90% of the specs of the game i was playin years ago :)
The other one could be Ultima Underworld: Stygian Abyss? I can't remember any others off the top of my head but there were loads like that in the 90s.
it was closer to the look of dungeon master. rather than ultima underworld. i just hope i wasnt dreaming it.
on another note sorry to matt5cott for highjacking his post. i have been lookin for you but with the little info given its really hard to narrow down.
also was thinkin maybe make this topic a sticky for people who want to find / remember games on yesteryear but then it would have to be narrowed down to point and click. mind you saying that i sort of took over with a completely different game .
so not sure if the title could be edited.
or maybe its just another one of my pointless/useless ideas :)
Let's see how it naturally progresses. The more it gets bumped up for matt the more chance of someone actually working out what game he's on about I reckon :)
and to matt5cott the only one thats poppin up in my head but doesnt fit the description of point and click but fills other criteria, is commander keen.

now i know this isn't relevant to the topic but in some way it is and thought i would post in here so that i wasn't making another separate thread
i too am looking to track down an old game that i used to play. give up on the other one hehe
it was a car/space ship style game. looked 3d but was 2d over head. and a bottom to top scroller and you went on different planets/terrains and collected different weapons and ammo. used to play on it for hours and completed it so many times but it was a game for me that had replay value
thats about as much info as i can give im afraid.
year. pfffffft late 80s early 90s i guess!

One that comes to mind though if it was a mix of cars and space/air stuff would be Swiv?

SWIV a good shout, any idea what format Cranium, PC? Amiga? etc
oh yeah sorry completely forgot the format was a pc game. and well it was more car ish ey! only details i can remember is you were driving like on a road you had to follow and it looked like it was above sky scrapers and what have you .yet had a space feel too it . and for some reason keep thinking it started with a letter at the end of the alphabet . z or something .
ps its not swiv. :)

but found 2 games i completely forgot i played until i seen a video of them
