Anyone know where/how I can check the bit rate configured against a VPN connection ?
I'm connecting to VyprVPN on my 50mb cable connection but only getting the throughput equivalent of a 10mb connection. I've poked around in the options.pptp fie but cannot see anything and Google appears to know nothing on this subject :o

I can see loads of GRE packets flying backwards and forwards but I cannot do anything about the speed.
I'm coming to the conclusion that this is a HW restriction with the Revo and that it cannot cope with de/encrypting data at anything over 15mbit. Ahhhh boooo :p
I suppose the alternative would be to get a router to create the VPN connection if it is the revo?
The only other thing to try would be a different OS maybe? If you could boot a live CD off of USB that will allow it then that would be the easy option?
I know this is really old but I've finally done some proper testing.
The Revo cannot encrypt/decrypt the VPN packets fast enough to maintain a > 2MBp/s download rate !
My i7 will quite happily download over the VPN at 5.5MBp/s (as will my C2D laptop when on a wired connection).
I did look at getting my Draytek to establish the VPN connection but routing traffic from a single host on the LAN to a particular VPN appears to be either impossible (or beyond my grasp) !
