Title: Upscaling Boxes
Post by: chrisdicko on July 31, 2007, 18:36:08 PM
Just wondering...............

You can buy freeview boxes and dvd players with Upscaling now........but instead of buying new players etc with the upscaling in.....can you buy an upscaling box...........where you plug the out signal from a sky/freeview/dvd player and that upscales the signal???

Or is that a stupid idea...........

Think Maplins got them for £199.
No idea how good they are, you can easily pay £1k for 1/2 decent one.

maybe have a nose at AVForums.. thinking of getting one myself, just not nosed much into it yet

Most HD TVs have them built in as well. They will up-scale any incoming signal so that it looks ok on the screen, it boils down how good you want it to look.
