Post by: chrisdicko on April 16, 2007, 11:51:48 AM
A mate of mine girlfriend is going to the USA on weds, and he wants a Wii. If they are actually in stock etc, will it work fine in the uk? Will it charge ok with one of them adapters for the socket. Can he buy UK games to play on a USA Wii??

Cheers

The games are region locked, so he couldnt buy UK games. And hed need some type of transformer/converter for the power.

The transformers are about £20 from Maplin.

But since Sony crushed the import business getting a good importer for the games would be a hassle.

Importing is a much better idea for Nintendo products imo. Super Paper Mario came out last Monday and there still (afaik) no date for a European release.

Basically NOE are terrible. www.videogamesplus.ca is a very good site to buy games from too.

I second that recommendation for VGP. Theyre great for US imports.
