Title: USB over IP
Post by: Christopher Monkey on May 09, 2006, 09:23:46 AM
Right..... ive set up a small network at home so that my folks can print to either mine or my brothers printer from their laptop, all that works fine, however it would be cool if we could share my USB scanner accross the network but the only way ive found to do it is to use a $100 piece of software!

Is there any easy, cheap (read cheap as free) ways of doing of doing this? All of the machines run Win XP Pro.....

I tried looking at this a few years ago and found absolutely nothing.

Then apaprently it wasnt possible. Let us know if you actually find a way.

I cannot find any free solutions but this software is only $17.99 and provides 1 "server" license and unlimited "client" licenses.
