Title: Using a Wireless Adapter as an Wireless Access Point?
Post by: Loki on June 07, 2006, 14:11:47 PM
Hey all,

the WAP I use at the moment, Netgear WG602 is a bit pants (doesnt transmit very far or beyond 1 room) and Id like to free the routers port for another device.

I cant seem to find a way myself, but I have a Netgear WG111T Wireless USB adapter and was hoping to use this on a 24/7 PC to make a Wireless Access Point as a replacement.  Is there a way to do this?  Any means possible, even 3rd party software?

Cheers :)

You can set up a peer-to-peer wireless link with it and another computer. But most wireless cards can only make one wireless link at a time, ie. 1 accesspoint or one other wireless card.
