Title: Video documentation software?
Post by: Leon on July 17, 2012, 23:38:24 PM
I'm after some software to do some software documentation videos within windows 7 but I can't for the life of me think of the names of the stuff used at my last company.

I have fraps which is great for games but I would like something that does more with the following mouse and focusing on key information instead of just full screen recording.

Any recommendations?

You want cam studio mate - open source alternative to camtasia. Does the job nicely. :)

Using a trial version of camtasia 8 at the moment and its damn nice software but the worst thing about documentation... "Do I really sound like that?!" :P lol

Another vote for cam-studio here, I recently got lumbered with this job at work for having "the poshest voice in the division". One thing to watch with camstudio is it tends to crap out on long videos, I ended up doing mine in 2 min chunks and using virtual dub to stick them together.
