Title: \\virgin XL Limits
Post by: addictweb on September 30, 2008, 12:19:41 PM
Im looking at virgin XL for my new flat and im trying to find out the limits on the connection (as virgin insist there are\nt any).

Id say im a heavy torrent user, do any of the virgin users on here know what the actual upper limits that they cap at are? Also, do they shape trafic in general.

Thanks all

Or just forget what they say and plan to be throttled all night every night and get nowhere near your line speed. Since the new traffic management has come in I dont think there has ever been a time I have logged on after being at work all day and not being throttles. Supposed to be a 3GB limit but I can log on to gmail and then open firefox and its throttled.

Only time it seems to work with any decent speed is after 3am till 6am then its back to its slow crap speeds.

You try to speak to them and all you get is blah blah blah this is the policy etc etc but when you explain you are nowhere near the limit they basically call you a liar. So I sent them logs proving what I was using and I am still waiting on a reply which I will probably never get :/
