Ive noticed a few threads on the merits of XP64 vs XP32, and a few comments on Vista vs XP, but not much seems to have been mentioned on Vista 64bit.
Im feeling a bit bored with XP 32bit... so feel like a bit of a change! Primarily going to be using my machine for Photoshop & video encoding, but suspect I might end up reviving a few gaming habits.
Of those Vista users out there - anyone on the 64bit version? Are there any tangible benefits above the 32bit variety? How is driver & software support?
Im happy to dual boot... the sensible part of me says to stick with XP 32bit & try Vista 32 or 64 alongside.
However, I have a habit of making less-than-sensible decisions :)

Im on XP64, love it. Ive got 4Gb of RAM in the thing and it flies along without a care in the world. The obvious benefit of using a 64Bit OS is that you can have more than 4Gb total of physical RAM in a machine. I know Vista32 SP1 will allow you to SEE more than 4Gb, but it wont let you use it!
Lovin it here. Flawless and speedy.
Vista64 here, working perfectly, but check driver compatibility before you take the plunge
Vista 32 here, much better than when I tried it on release. Think ill be keeping it going
Vista 32 here. No problems with drivers or games.
Vista 32 - its ok. Bit iffy at times.
Ive just changed over to vista... about 30min ago
and Im quite liking it so far !
had to change a few things around, but I have to do that in xp anyway (speed up the menues etc...)
all I need to do now is figure out how to dump the popup saying "is it ok to bla bla bla" every time I change something :o
o.s. this is faster than xp was for me !
look under user accounts in control panel and find Turn User Accounts Control On/Off
go in there and deselect it
restart and hey presto it should have got rid of the popups
