What is the most important thing to you when buying parts for your PC?
Cheers
Tongy
They are all important but the priority changes with each piece of HW.
For a HDD; its size/dimension, reputation, price then warranty.
For a CPU it similar but future proofing more than warranty.
For a GFX card is all about size/future proof/price.
youve missed out performance, which is the most important aspect for me for many components.
Its going to be a compromise between performance and cost, with the other items then used to decide between the contenders.
As usual money prevents me from getting what I really want
but performance and reliability is importent as well.
Usually price moderated by the reputation of the company, e.g. if ebuyer is cheaper by say Ã,£20 on a Ã,£100 item than anywhere else i will get it from them, but ifs its only Ã,£1-5 more at tek then ill get it there. Performance isnt an issue per se as i decide what sort of performance/ price i want then find the cheapest.
most important to me...
It does what I want it to do
Performance all the way.
Price, and warranty.
Would consider brand loyalty too. For example: I love western digital hard drives. So will aim for the cheapest one of them rather than going for a cheaper Maxtor.
Performance/price is a balance for me, I prefer best bang for the pound. Reliability is also equally important. Upgrading comes next.
Sorry but it is all of them As well as availiblity and the place you get it from and as mentioned the type of item has different values of what your looking for.
If its a dvd drive your not fussed about the warrenty as they are so cheap for example.
Performance of course is very high along with the value for money (which comes from shopping around and buying smart)
