If you have anything to say on any of the above [or any other systems in that price range?] then please do :)))
Thanks!
Ive not heard them myself, but Yamaha AV receivers are generally excellent quality, but then you could probably say the Denon speakers should be better.
On paper the YAMAHA - AV-4101 looks the best to me out of those, and has 1080 HDMI support (no mention of this anywhere for the Denon).
Id go with the Yamaha I think. Im not a fan of budget sets myself, the Yamaha route offers better expandability though.
Theres also this based around the same receiver, Im not sure what the differences are but its £50 cheaper - ahhh no HDMI on this either...

I know that Denon make excellent cd players (we use them for professional sound gigs), but I have no idea what theyre like for amps and speakers. Should definitely be at least in the same sort of class as as the Yammys.
I have a Yamaha DSP-AX620 receiver (quite old) and it sounds great. The problem I have with it is that it doesnt do A->D video conversion, upscaling or have HDMI. As a result I am now using it purely as an audio receiver and my video sources are plugged directly into the TV.
whats a professional sound gig?

Those things with a few hundred grands worth of sound and light kit, concerts, big band gigs.
Imagine the sort of size of sound stuff that would go with this:
Thank you all
Ill be ordering the Yamaha AV-4101 tonight :)
