Just wondering if you guys have DEP turned on or off?
Its on but on my machine its just software based, as opposed to hardware as my processor doesnt support it.
Whats DEP to someone who thinks Windows is witchcraft?

That solves one part of the equation...the other part is I have no idea whether Ive got it on or off
Right click My Computer > Advanced > Performance > Settings DEP tab :)
But not for all it seems I need to look in to it :)
Never even knew it was there :P
I dont know, Ive never fiddled with the thing.
Its ony caught my attention on servers.
I use it, apparently, never knew it was there :)
Off, it causes some serious problems with some drivers.
/NoExecute=AlwaysOff can often be your friend.
The default settings for windows only, so it shouldnt mess with your drivers [btw I been reating the wiki page on it ]

I would disagree. My old PC used to crash for fun in games until i turned DEP off totally. The default setting for windows is /NoExecute=OptIn. My issue was with the HD Audio drivers. Turned the DEP off and it flew along without a care i the world forever afterwards.
Maybe I just got lucky so far then :heehaw:
