Really wasn't expecting to enjoy this one but was pleasantly surprised. The first X-Men film was okay, second was quite good, third was not so good, and Wolverine was rubbish, but this is something entirely new. It feels much more "comic book" in tone, so it flits between some quite dark moments and some quite comedic bits and pieces. Setting everything in the cold war during the Cuban Missile Crisis lets them have a bit of fun and camp things up 60's style as while when it's appropriate. It's just a jolly good action adventure with some lovely charachter development. James McAvoy is perfect as a young Professor X as well.

All in all it's by far the best of any of the X-Men films.

As much as I dislike the charachter of Wolverine and all of the attention that he gets Hugh Jackman's Wolverine cameo in this is legendary.

Nope, sorry, the main scrubs guy greatly annoys me.

going to watch this tonight and am looking forward to it after reading some geat reviews.

I thought it was good, but maybe not as good as some of the reviewers say.

It seems to plod along with not much happening in alot of places but I can kind of let that go as there is alot of character building that was needed, maybe abit to much.
I also found some of the characters pointless, some of the abilities where rubbish.

The action scenes where really good and the story was well written and acted, casting of magneto and prof x, and the baddy was perfect.

Also as already mentioned the wolverine cameo was genius and its nice to seem Micheal Ironside back on screen.

I think he's one of those characters you either find hilarious or re-heeeeearly annoying.

As Soopah will have figured out from that sentence, I fall into the former category, but I can definitely see where you're coming from.
