Yes it is - amazon price seems fine

I got one with my elite but if you get one with an elite and plan to use hdmi there is a few things to note

HDMI to DVI for pc lcd will work BUT your lcd needs to be hdcp compliant to descramble the scrambled signal from the 360

You can get drivers to run the hd drive on your pc which do work if you google and follow the steps in one of the many guides on the net but again your lcd on your pc will have to be hdcp complient or you can get an adapter or cable to go from your dvi out your pc to lcd/plasma tv

Movies wise dvd and now hddvd the best store online for me is dvd.co.uk - Fully recommend for the price, free deliver and good service

How many DVDs do you own in your collection?
I own about 50, the Majority of which was bought when I first got a dvd player over 10years ago.

Will I get HD-DVD?
Computer Says No

Loads, buy them now and again, rent loads and seem to be a big chunk of my birthday and christmas presents each year.

Forgot to add the fact that the xbox hddvd like other hd drives out there DOES upscale DVDs
Newer ones look very good and older ones do have good improvement in their looks
So if you have a large dvd collection they do come out better

So again is it worth it? yes

I found this cool thing called Bit Torrent.

How much are HDDVDs? £20? More expensive than a regular DVD?

Some new ones are but most are £13-15 sometimes 17 so not much more then dvds or the same.
Blue ray movies are the ones that do average £17-20+

Bit Torrent - illegal and some people do like to be within the law you know

Can get a lot of HD-DVDs for the same prices as new DVDs especially if you import.

I tend to get my HD-DVDs on import from MovieTyme.com, unless I can get a UK version for around the same price.

You dont wanna know how many I own, but lets just say that its a fair few, but I stopped buying SD-DVDs when I started buying HD-DVDs, of which I now own 24, one of which is the Heroes: Season 1 set.

I dont mean the software media player.

I meant a H/Ware one... Like Freecom
or this

FWIW, I have 900 movies spread over several HDDs that I use for VOD.

I have countless folders & Spindles full of VCDs & DVDs as well.

Ahh I see :)

Still if you have a 360 and a decent PC you can setup TVersity and then stream it all to the 360 anyway :)

Yes, but in my experience the 360 is noisy & can heat up a room a lot.

I use the 360 elswhere. TBH if they wasnt as noisy Id rather have Xboxs all around the house
