Title: xbox 360 firmware stuff..

is it possible to get some other kind of firmware/operating system on a 360 so that itd play divx movies over network?

edit: itd need to be dual bootable or something so I can still use xbl an stuff normally..

you want an original modded xbox for that, nothing can do that with the 360 as far as i know

but original xbox with xbmc == god

agreed - my xbox is purely a media centre now and its great! If it broke I would buy another just for xbmc

Youve been able to run DivX and XviD files on the 360 for many, many months now using Trancode 360 (http://transcode360.co.uk/).
