There are a few rumours going around about this, hdmi, die shrink, bigger hdd..

edit: actually the die shrink is more a fact.
great news!
I read this, did not think to post, but it I think someone has already mentioned this in another thread
Anyway..
It is something People need to expect now, ps2 had several versions for example so a console may have new versions and it seems to be an expected practise now in the industry.
PSP looks set to have a version with those new micro hardrives for example and I am sure the flawed ps3 will have updates as well.
It is down to a decent period of time to offer the new version, I think the 360 has been around long enough now though.
What I have heard is that..
100% true a better cpu is on the way which is 65nm and so will run with less heat
the HDMI would make sense and the hadrive as well, die shrink and build improvements is almost a given.
Drive as a had hd drive though is doubtful I think they will keep with the external option and downloads via live for movies.
Good, less focus on those scallywags who have older flashed versions.
w00t :)
Should mean that I can sell my original for minimal loss to a scally wag and upgrade to a HDMI version on the cheap :)
Besides it possibly being quieter I dont feel the need to change...
HDMI? I already run 1080p over VGA.
120Gb HDD? Only for those looking to download a lot of HD video content from marketplace, I dont plan on buying any video content.
Or for those looking to horde all the free game demos off Xbox Live ;)
1st this info is arguably fake, there are so many things going against all the rumors (main one being that Zephyr is actually codename for a server 2003 technology)
but if it is true...
I dont see the point in HDMI, quality is the same, it actually frees up our TVs HDMI slot for the cable box and let me quote bittech
QuoteUp until now, thanks to the recent Xbox Live update, Microsoft has enabled people to use the analogue component and VGA connections to watch their movies in HD, essentially DRM-free. Could this mean mean more people seek out the version 1 console in DRM-free preference?
Its actually allowing people more freedom
Ok the new HDD may be a bitch but you payed for a smaller HDD, the new model may be the same price you payed but its 2 years later!

Bitter lol!!? If its true I think its great for new customers. Lots of ppl waited for the bugs to be ironed out and now it seems theyre getting a better deal for being patient. Bug free and improved spec - nice! If its true of course which remains to be seen.......
BTW are you sure youve had your 360 2 years....?
probably closer to 14 months :)
The 2 years was talking about by the time this magic new version is released ;)

PSP has already had two respins. TA-082 and TA-086.
I would expect the 360 respin to come in during holiday season. Perfect time for a price drop :) Especially if you main competitor is still running at a loss.
M$ just announced IPTV over X-Box 360 with live pause and record being an option, more so than just video download from marketplace. If so its going to have to have a bigger HDD and more than likely HDMI if the TV is going to be HD. Id say this is pretty likely to be true.

Heres a demo video. :)

Really looking forward to this.... god knows how much itll cost though.
Think itll compliment my HTPC with local TV quite nicely :)
I doubt theyd announce it while existing stock is still on shop shelves.
Why not? Both PS2s were on sale at the same time, still are.

Then theyd never annouce it unless they let stocks totally deplete. I dont think that will bother them - they will still sell the ones on the shelves as not everyone will care / be well enough informed.
