Vodafone; Maxon 3204
I can't remember if this was the very first phone I had but I'm pretty sure it was as it was birthday gift I think:

Lovely phone it was too. Slim, attractive, lightweight and the first ever phone to be able play MP3s for the ringtone instead of some polyphonic garbage.
I had it for that long I can still remember the tactile feel of the buttons.

Phillips Savvy, awful chunky piece of rubbish. How I longed for a 3210!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_5110 with Red LED's Mod, that may well have been my first mod!
Soon replaced by a 3210 on Orange
I can't find any of my old ones.
My first was an Alcatel with an orange screen,

That was my first phone! I must have blocked out the memory of it  I got it on a Virgin PAYG deal, then swiftly moved up to the Sony J5 when I went to college. It's all come flooding back now.

Free with my Barclaycard at uni!
The 3210 was my second phone. My girlfriend had that Philips Savvy at the time and I was a horrendous thing that kicked out so much interference it used to reset computers if you sat it next to them and a call came through.
I can't for the life of me remember what my first phone actually was. Big chunky thing, one line display, on orange. I think it was a black and grey gloss case and it was about three times as big as the 3210.

Was this before you became Doctor Manhattan?
Have you noticed how phones have gone from being ugly bricks, to sleek and cool (e.g. the Nokia 'Matrix' phone) right back to being ugly bricks again, but now with huge touchscreens. I think the days of a phone being admired in the same way are long gone. Now for the posers its all about how many features a phone has or how big said screen is. Any guesses where the market will be in another 10 years time?
I used to have a Nokia 8210 when I worked at Dominos in 1999. I had to keep it in a moneybag to stop the cornflower getting into it.
QuoteThe phone weighs 79 g (with a lithium battery) and is 101.5mm long, 44.5mm wide and 17.4 mm thick.
I think mine was a Motorola of some description...
First phone:

And then a few years later:

Ahh the heady days of single line displays :)
Mine was a Seimens SL10, one of the first slider phones
(http://red-forum.com/nastroeknet/models/Siemens/Data/images/sl10.jpg)
My first phone too (Phillips C12) ... Which I think was pretty much the same as the Savvy
And like Clock'd I followed that up with the Sony J12... Not to forget it was the first phone with 5 shades of grey on screen!

10 years? entirely on your wrist. Brick wise, god yes, went small, to go big again the same was done with battery life went great, then back to crap, the sweet spot for me is the nokia 6510

if they did one the same size with a small colour screen and decent camera I'd be all over it, gorgeous phone Wub (I still have one :) )
Best phone ever made?
6310

I had one of those too, quite indestructible and only needed charging about once in 2 weeks. One sad day it slipped out of my pocket while I was in a lecture and I never saw it again. Never since have I owned a phone I felt so little need to replace.
