NOT WORK SAFE
QuoteIve been traveling a lot lately. I was over in Australia during Easter. It was interesting to note they celebrate Easter the same way we do; commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus by telling our children a GIANT BUNNY RABBIT... left chocolate eggs in the night.
Now, I wonder why were f***ed up as a race?
Where do you get this sh*t from? Why those two things? Why not "Goldfish left LINCOLN LOGS in your sock drawer"? As long as were making sh*t up, go hog wild. At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back crawling across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it!
*young irish boys voice* "Look mummy, i woke up today and there was a Lincoln Log in me sock drawer!"
*drugged sounding mother* "Thats the story of JESUS!
Who comes up with this sh*t? Ive read the Bible, I cant find the words "bunny" or "chocolate" anywhere in that f***ing book. Do you all have different books of the bible than I do?

In most cases we probably do, I have three different versions and none of them match
The egg symbolises new life, and the rabbit symbolises fertility.
The Christian bit comes from lent when people used to fast/not eat eggs (iirc). Lotsa eggs left over, gotta do something with em, innit.
and I thought it was from borrowing, as in George lent me a fiver :D
Lent originally just meant spring but is more usually used to indicate the 40 days of fasting.
