Title: Biscuit wars 2.0: Total War
Post by: zpyder on March 09, 2012, 10:17:52 AM
Anyone remember the Biscuit war from several years ago? I think chocolate digestives won, closely followed by Kit kats and Hobnobs?

I'm proposing a sequel...with a twist. Instead of nominating just biscuits...anything goes. Your bike, a pen, whatever. We could have a period for nominations, and then the objects would be paired off in a series of polls....with the objective of discovering the mightiest of the mighty, the holiest of holies, and all-round uber-thing.

It'd be random, but hopefully it'd also be fun too, getting some interesting and random discussion going on the pros and cons of things that are paired off...

Thoughts?

I nominate accidentally leaving the teabag in the cup so it gets horribly bitter by the time you reach the bottom and don't realise why until you see the bag.

This is the *BEST* thing in all of existence? Sounds like a mild annoyance at worst and a weak anecdote at best.

I nominate 'The Godfather' book / film Part 1.

Tea is for weak little girls.

Real men drink Coffee,  and gallons of it.
2 heaped tsp for instant and a good inch in the bottom of a caffetiere.

Yes I wasn't being serious, it just happened to me that evening (and the tea was lovely until I drank raw bag juice)  I don't understand the new rules of introducing anything you like, e.g the bike/pen example. They aren't exactly dunkable!

I'm a fan of leaving bags in tea :) actually prefer the bitter taste as you get further down the cup.

Folk don't half look at me odd though.

Well people will have to weigh up the merits of whatever is up, and maybe come up with rock paper scissors type of scenarios. Eg, bikes are quiet and don't run out of fuel in a zombie apocalypse, but you can stab a zombie in the head with your pen etc. pens can also be used as a chopstick and drumstick etc...?

Right I see now, so we're nominating the most amazing, wonderful, greatest thing in the world and not just stuff that dunks into drinks. I shall have a think  :D

Anyone have any other suggestions, before we start pairing them off?

Goldeneye 64 > Mario Kart 64

Wrong.

Mariokart has the pick-up-and-play attraction for all type of player - it also has way more longevity - we play all 16 tracks at LEAST 3 times a week in my house, although emulated with 360 pads instead of on its original hardware.

Anyway.. this is the point of the war I suppose ...

Who says they'll get paired off together?

I'll say now the pairings will be made using a random number generator...

And that's from an owner of them.
