General Hayden gained confirmation today.

A soldier heading a traditionally civilian spy agency. Troops being sent to the Mexican border. Power lust and militarization. Smell like Fascism.

And you expected something different? Bush is well known for sticking his kind of people into high positions where they can either get rewards, arrange things for him or hide stuff.

Im just appalled that the Senate confirmation committee let this one slide through. Ugh.

Remember the last high ranking military man in a civilian post, Colin Powell? He may have been retired, but his military mindset as secretary of state affected his ability to reason. He was loyal to the POTUS and not the truth and flogged some pretty smelly evidence to the UN as reason to go to war in Iraq.

The Senate itself needs a whipping--the only reason were in Iraq in the first place is that a bunch of pussillanimous sh*t-for-brains were scared of filibustering the bill to extend executive branch power--for fear of being called unpatriotic. Retards.

I honestly doubt it. The Dems are weak little pussies for the most part, and people will still look to the GOP to "protect" them. In the end it will probably come down to bigotry against homos and the GOPs wanting to ensconce this in the Constitution. Apparently, gay sex is so damn awesome that its a threat to the the Flanders marriage.
