Remember the last high ranking military man in a civilian post, Colin Powell? He may have been retired, but his military mindset as secretary of state affected his ability to reason. He was loyal to the POTUS and not the truth and flogged some pretty smelly evidence to the UN as reason to go to war in Iraq.

I honestly doubt it. The Dems are weak little pussies for the most part, and people will still look to the GOP to "protect" them. In the end it will probably come down to bigotry against homos and the GOPs wanting to ensconce this in the Constitution.
