There *HAS* to be someone actually suitable in the Conservative Party? :dunno:
Or do they dig up Thatcher and put her skeleton on the front bench?
Seems George Osborne has ruled himself out of becoming Tory leader, and rightly so.
Plenty of other possible contenders including Boris Johnson, Theresa May, Stephen Crabb, Jeremy Hunt, Liam Fox and John Baron.
Boris, although flamboyant, is a potential walking disaster. Hunt is rather less popular with health service employees than he might be.
I like Stephen Crabb. He talks a lot of sense.
I think Boris is cleverer than what people think.
Boris is clever but he gets himself into troubles and a lot of his ideas have failed. Then he ruled himself out too after Gove put his name forward. Some of his backers claimed treachery and betrayal.

So there is Michael Gove, Theresa May, Stephen Crabb, Liam Fox and Andrea Leadsom. Any of them could become the next Conservative leader and lead UK into Brexit.
Theresa may will walk it. She's statesperson like, she's a remain supporter so will placate the remain MPs and she's got a lot of experience.
Seems Gove is under pressure to step down from MPs who were going to support Boris. That would mean the core party could unite behind May.
It isn't over yet but they could end up with someone who is actually decent.
gove's backstabbing has made him non-electable.
Fox (lost first vote) and Crabb (withdrew from contest) both decided to back May.
Andrea Leadsom looks like the only leave candidate who might be able to stand against May. I agree that Gove is unelectable to the Tory MPs and in all probability the mass members of the Conservative party as a whole.
Which would mean our next PM is going to be female and in all probability May. The only problem there is she's only been in the Home office, her opinions about other areas of government are less known.
Then again she did manage to successfully deport Abu Qatada and Abu Hamza al-Masri. That achievement alone deserves her a chance at PM

May 199, Leadsom 84, Gove 46. Guess the other Tory MPs didn't agree with Gove he was the right candidate for PM.
Leadsom lacks cabinet experience but did vote for Brexit.
QuoteTheresa May is to become the UK's prime minister on Wednesday evening - after David Cameron announced he would quit after Prime Minister's Questions.
Speaking outside 10 Downing Street, Mr Cameron said he would offer his resignation to the Queen on Wednesday afternoon at Buckingham Palace.
Mrs May's only rival to succeed Mr Cameron as Conservative leader, Andrea Leadsom, pulled out earlier on Monday.

I wonder if Sam is happy with this result?
Cameron out, May in... Seems good
Osbourne out getting great...
Boris Johnson Foreign Secretary......... WTF?
Or just perhaps May has a cunning plan, p*ss off all of the Eurocrats and they will settle for any deal just to get rid of him.
Then Trump, if he gets in, will probably see him as a kindred spirit and we'll get a good deal from the Americans.
The Russians will probably declare nuclear war, get your bunkers filled and ready.... :tinhat: :tinhat: :tinhat:
