Just wondering to change the name of this section of the forums. It feels a bit out dated.
Should it not be more along the lines of "Technology & Internet" or "Technology & Web" ? Which will cover mobiles, tablets, web applications, OS's like IOS to windows 8 and of course computers etc.
Similar too is Movies etc when it could be a Media title of some sort.
Well we did have it called Entertainment at one point but thats too broad, I think movies, etc is good for searches.
I'm happy to hear any other suggestions on good alternative names for both sections though as I think you're right about Computing & Internet.
I second that :)
How about from "Movies, Games, Music and more" to "Movies, Games, Music and Media"
I also think "Computing, Technology & Web"
You are the english speaking ones so I leave up to you :)
I don't see what the problem is with the current names. :dunno:
Microprocessors and BBS?

Talking about the new LCD or OLED or Tablet from CES for example, where does it go? Does not fit properly under the current names at all really.
Computing is and old search time now as well for example.
In that case perhaps Computing, Technology and Communication would be a better option, Web doesn't include things like phone calls, networking, texts or similar methods.

Quite like that
I'd still like to keep web/internet in there, Communication is very broad and we want to ensure we're indexed on terms that are searched moreso than what compartmentalises everything most appropriately. When was the last time you searched for communication? :)
How about Computing, Technology, Web & Communication?
I prefer Internet over Web, but at the end of the day I don't care that much :D
I do too, but I think web is a better searched term.

'Technology, web, cialis and viagra'
Computing, media and internet technology.

Haha... and to be honest if anyone is expecting more hits because we change the name of this then it's going to be unlikely :)
Regardless of being web (18.7 Billion results, although you get more if you search for web without spiders strangely @25.3 Billion) or internet (7.5Billion results) and internet -porn returns 10.3billion
I don't think it will really get more hits, but might be more relevant.
Computing, media and communication technology.
Just call it "Tek" and be done with it :P

Okay we'll roll with that for now as well as Movies, Music, Games and Media :ptu:
I saw the title of the thread and thought wait they're really going to try and rename the internet?!?
Then it dawned on me when I read the rest of the title :D
