Was awesome though, I am quite well known with adobe BC partners and every break I saw food, snacks, drinks and could not get to them, people coming up to me constantly, Had people queuing to talk to me.
Bloody STRANGE, most crazy day ever for me, not used to that at all, think of myself as just a guy doing websites still so was crazy.
Had to go get brakes when other people were doing speaches and since I know a few of the Adobe team and some other guys in Sydney 2 of them whisked me off for lunch as they new a nice place up the road as they fancied a beer and meal too over the supplied food at the event. Was good to escape for a bit.
Sounds great :) Grats.
Great, congrats to ya :)
It's a big accomplishment for you! How big were some of the other seminars in terms of people? One thing I can't work out is why they stuck the podium over to one side, was it because your height would have interfered with the projection?
Question is, do you find it more scary in smaller groups? I know that I find it more awkward in a lecture theatre if there's only a dozen people, than if its full and there's say 75+ people. Instead of talking to people I find it's like talking to a wall of faces. But I've not had to do many talks and not to 200+ people I think, I imagine at a certain point more people becomes more scary again!
now start charging for giving seminars
It was smaller at Max due to the space we had for that one, it was kind of sectioned of places within the LA convention centre and that was spilled over a little.
Not sure, I just get nervous full stop no matter how big or small. Seeing all those people was kind of scary. I just tried to do what I was trained (had some training on speaking last year) and made sure you make odd eye contact, ask questions to people, get them to raise their hands and things like that.

Balls of steel :)
Certain people on here (who are not posting anymore) said what I do would not get me anywhere ^^

Then why post here if they aren't here anymore? I wouldn't worry about what internet people say, unless you know them personally I wouldn't let anything get you down.

Why not?
They might come back or someone else might remember and tell them.
I remember when people told Zpyder his stuff was childish and he's still using the experience he got then in his work now. I, knowing how some top film people started out, supported him in what he wanted to do.
Gloating is such good fun when you get the down on a bunch of bumholes ;D
I dont understand, they are faceless internet people. People take this sh*t far too seriously.
Who are we talking about, if you give names they might pop back, a few more members wouldn't hurt.
Just to make it clear I'm not being narky, congrats on the talks nexus. Looks like you've done really well in your chosen career. I would sh*t myself trying to speak to any number of people at length.
Was not for them, was just to show what I been doing, like everyone does.
That last bit was just because some people here who defiantly not nameless have literally said what I knew and was doing wont get me anywhere.
Old thinking of old developer code and software coders thinking their the ones who make the money and get noticed.
Just thought I would throw it in if they ever see this.
More to the point it is the fact that if you put the effort in, work hard good things do happen. And it has been a lot of work! I do a not of stuff in my spare time, for free to get where I want to be going. You need to do that though.
