Thursday Last week I proposed to my girlfriend in the private "Lotus" room at her favourite Restaurant.
It was also her birthday.
Started off by ordering the Banquet meal and then gave her, her birthday presents.
Staff were all in on the plan but was a bit awkward as all the waitresses were all overly smilie.
Desert was held off because of "All the food" and we got our Tea.
I then went to the bathroom but I actually went and handed the ring to the staff and instead of her desert under the lids when they brought the desert came this:

After I said my bit and and her response, She did this:

Yes :D
Congratulations! When do you think the big day will be?
I'm curious about the ring and it's message.
My sister got engaged on Bonfire night, it's kind of cool to see the ring you have, the stone configuration is similar, but everything around them is different, and different shape stones. Amazing how different they are, yet both are awesome.
3rd pic -you left the price tag on 'o)
Congrats mate!

LOL, If only it was that low! lol
The ring is something they have made but I asked for modifications and tweaks to it and the internal message and pink diamond combo is new to them. Her hands are so small the lady who made the ring (its by hand) found the band a challenge and it thins to the diamond (my idea) and the crossing hard for the size. The private message had to be shortened and the pink diamond on the inside cost extra but I think since she likes pink it was worth it:)
Congratulations... also nicely executed proposal getting the restaurant staff in to help with the surprise etc.. bet she was chuffed :)
Congratz mate.
Congratulations! :ptu:
Question is, how does one decide upon the ring to get? It's quite an expensive mistake to make if they don't like it :| At least wedding rings are a joint decision :D

I'm quite lucky, my better half doesn't really like the exchanging of rings, it's just something to go missing in the future.
I know girls that say that, but deep down they have the same basic longing for a giant nugget glued to a band on their finger. If she really is like that you're lucky
On zpyder's point, I'm of the opinion that it's much more of a gesture to pick the ring with her as a couple rather than try to surprise them with something they may not like at all.
Congrats!
On the ring topic, I'm really not a fan either - I get annoyed with them after ten minutes, put it down and end up losing it!
However, the idea behind that ring is sweet (although, surprising as it is I don't like diamonds!)

She doesn't do rings in general really. She saw a few degloved fingers whilst doing human anatomy at uni. Enough to put you off wearing things on your fingers for life.
I hadn't heard of that term before and googled it... :gag:
