While nitrous oxide is fun to abuse it can also be adictive and can easily knock you out so dont overdo it. Otherwise its relatively safe.

TBH one pair I worked ambulances with got caught and kicked out of the Ambulance service for misusing the gear on board their vehicle.

I think its a sort of urban legend, long term abusers can damage the vocal cords through freeze burns if you take it straight from the pressurised tank and can end up with anemia, but the average lifetime use at the odd party isnt going to make a blind bit of difference.

Risks are minimal, some people end up feeling sick after use but that isnt going to be life threatening. Its used straight from the tank all the time on ambulances, althoug through a pressure regulator. Training for use is minimal to say the least simply because its that safe.

QuotePrincipal Adverse Effects
Respiratory
Respiratory depression, apnea, diffusion hypoxia
Cardiovascular
Hypotension, arrhythmias
CNS
Dizzyness, euphoria, increased CBF/ICP, neuropathy with chronic exposure
GI
Nausea, vomiting, ileus
Other
Bone marrow depression with chronic exposure, malignant hyperthermia

Other Considerations
Ã,· Diffuses into air-containing spaces 34 times faster than nitrogen can diffuse out, and can lead to potentially dangerous airspace expansion (pneumothorax, bowel obstruction, etc)
Ã,· May cause diffusion hypoxia during emergence if supplemental oxygen is not administered
Ã,· Crosses the placenta, and can cause fetal depression

I gotta get some!

i dont aim to be spraying the stuff around in peoples faces.

im just gonna let a container or two off behind a sofa, and let it dissapate, seeing what happens. gradually adding more and more to a room lol.

should be fun.

thats gonna be rubbish tbh. what you need to do is fill some balloons and take a balloon full in three gulps without breathing between. thats how to "take" nitrous.

im not sure if its dangerous, im even less sure its adictive, but its certainly funny!

Its best if they know what they are doing, its going to be funny enough anyway. I certainly wouldnt try filling the room with it.
