Why oh why can I not just remain naïve?

Also I dont think my mouth has enough space to accommodate more teeth, esp a whopping great set of molars.

I dont fancy having them pulled out (at least not yet), would feel gross inside my mouth and totally mess up the exam period. Whats the best wait to deal with this for the time being? All Ive got is paracetamol atm. And for some reason they hurt a lot more after Ive been sleeping? Odd. Grr.

sleeping is when your body does most of its growing, so itd make sense that tooth growth increases during the night :)

To be honest... I dealt with my teeth coming through (lower back only ones that have come through) by being a sadomasichist... chewed pens and stuff to increase the pain and wear down the gums covering em. But my pains were livable without painkillers, used to get the metallic ache when I chewed a pen. Once they are through providing your teeth move or you have enough room for em :) the pain goes. Its just like teething when your a kid.

Dose up on paracetamol and chew through it :)

ooouch I had that I while back, not cool :(

Sara

No not cool. Had to turn down a good snog with the new boyfriend cos it hurt too much!!!

:o just read up more on wisdom teeth. :o

Seems that if its extreme pain then it could be impacted. Worth going to the dentists just to get it checked. Leave the removal till after the exams if you need to :)

but then... a removal could mean a few days and voomph! no pain! :)

Sooo damn glad I didnt need mine removed mind. I have a genetic defect/abnormality. Double the number of roots on each of my teeth, and they are twisted.

Sara

Nah its not crazy pain. More of an ache, gets worse if I open my mouth to yawn - but its not like YEEOOOOWWWW, more like "agh, gnnnhhh".

brummie

I had my top ones removed and that was relatively painless. He did say when they remove my bottom ones they will had to dislocate my jaw

Could try ice cream :) Numb the pain.

Also switch out the parcetamol with some Ibuprofen, get rid of any swelling going on there :)

GroovyPigThing

if your gums are swollen swoosh some salt water around your mouth a few times a day, really helps!

Its 24 hours of misery, then youre good to go. I had an impacted one, so it had to be chiseled out. Chisel slipped and nicked my jawbone. Owie. Prescription Dope(tm) took care of the pain.

Get it done asap, and if it messes with exams, talk to your professors about possible alternatives--the pain only gets worse.

If its really bad you can take both of those at the same time although you have to be careful not to exceed the recommended dose on either. Check with the chemist though.

For varying unknown reasons Ibuprofen doesnt seem to work well on me and I have to use aspirin instead.

Well worth getting it checked out by a dentist though, even if you do decide to wait a bit before getting them seen to. It might take time for an available appointment anyway.

i used paracetamol and Ibuprofen to get some effect.
but the best is to go to dentist and take it out.

I had mine taken out the day after I graduated from high school.  Mine were impacted and all 4 had to be cut/broken out.  My doctor was ex-army and said his soldiers would get the afternoon off and had to report back to work the next day.  I had mine done first thing in the morning and played golf later that afternoon.  It was not bad at all.
