I need to find a young lad (or lass) to work for my company, who knows HTML pretty well, and is very very ofay with computers (and net) in general. Dont need to be a programmer, but their knowledge of general HTML must be pretty good (or average and able to learn very quickly). Where is the best place to go to post a job like that (because obviously the job centre will be a joke).

Chuck Norris

Somewhere in a university or college.  Students just coming back, keen to get part time jobs and some of the more IT based students would be keen to give it a go.

Er... here! :D lol. Id take it, but cant move up north just yet, would consider it after uni however (next june! ;)).

But aye... unis tend to advertise local positions.

GroovyPigThing

You might as well try gumtree, dunno how good the responses would be but its worth a try

Serious

Also have a look through the directory for local training companies. Even ones that only do NVQ government training are propably worth looking at.

*she-devil*

DeltaZero

Where would the job be based ?

Sam

I dont want to employ students, by and large they are wasters.

Obviously no offence to the 5% of them who are actually hard working because I know they do exist.

Serious

Then you are basically stuffed cause a lot of them are timewasters anyway no matter where you go, at least if you go through a government scheme you should be able to try them out for minimum cost. You should also be able to look at the training place.

Also being older on average you tend to get people willing to give a little more commitment than stoodents.

If you dont want to go that way thats your choice and I have no problems with it, quite a number of the schemes are just there to make money.

Beaker

Find some A-Level student whos willing to work for minimum wage because he/she wants some experience, or if you have a uni near by have a word with their SU jobs shop (most unis have one).  Again itll be minimum wage, but you are likely to get someone will to learn, and willing work so they can say to a potential employer "Look what ive done".

Its not a chip, its bitter experience.

Sara

Use the standard sites like jobsite, totaljobs, reed etc. Certainly thats the sort of place I have been looking.

I would do it Sam if I wasnt too stubborn to move from Bristol! Unless you can have someone work for you remotely :D

PS: Just graduated ;)

Having worked at a uni for several years now, I can also say from experience, Sam is bang on the money.
