I think a laptop would be useful in certain situations, wen Im lazy and dont want to get out of bed and use my computer.
Maybe I want to be out and about and then use it then.
Several other places I could use a laptop too, so I would use it.
Although I cant afford a laptop at the moment, I really dont want to go on finance, as if I do Id have to go to somewhere like Bright house that will do it guaranteed.
Would you guys save up? Get a new one? 2nd hand one?
Did the same. I love my lappy :D
I got a refurb Dell (as some of you probably saw when I posted about it), saved loads of money and theres still a years RTB warranty with the seller.

Did the same? Finance ? But with me, and the high finance rates put me off. I might save up...
if you want one asap, get a CC with 12months 0%apr
you can get a decent enough lappy for Ã,£450~
cut the card up aftre you buy the lappy
pay Ã,£38 a month off it and you have a lappy now that hasnt cost you more than the price.
I got a used Dell complete with linksys wifi for about Ã,£100. Plenty fast for net and officey type stuff.
I recently got an Apple Macbook
Its rather brilliant - wish Id switched to OS X years ago now!
Ive had my laptop for about 4yrs & prob used it less than 100 hours!
I have a terrible credit rating and credit card companies wont give me a card.
There are plenty of powerful lappys around the Ã,£500 mark, the Lenovo 3000 N100 0768 in bargains seems a very reasonable one at a good price.

Get one of these, theyre really cheap, and the OS is really simple to use, a lot like Mac OSX...

I see that one has your name on it, getting good useage? ;)
Sure, I tried hacking it, but it keeps saying "Im sorry Dave, Im afraid I cant do that."
And my names not even dave! :?
er... Roll Id say leave it.
I bought a lappy on credit, I just finished paying it off, it doubled in price and is woefully underspec for what I can get for the price I paid now.
It cost me Ã,£1599... I finished paying it off in november last year, advertised at the time at 899,
I will never buy another thing on credit as long as I can help it. Mortgage...sure... credit purchases. Never.
If you get interest free then it isnt a problem providing it fits your needs and is reasonably priced.
My present one cost Ã,£999 for a 3Ghz pantsium with a 1400*1050 screen. Works great still and has plenty of power.
You have to watch out for ripoff companies though.
