Just a thought here, read in another thread, a comment that the forums could do with an influx of new members, so anyone got any ideas? Or am i just thinking way off, its not needed, its a nice close community :P
However you dont get if you dont ask
Someone do a how-to-fry-Bacon on a C2D thread?

One of the very first BBSs I used when I was a kid is still up and running, and its still running on old hardware
Do many people use it mark ?

id love to try a dial up BBS, im too young/got into computing too late to have experienced it.
the idea of the internet being a small-knit crowd or nerds is just awesome, id of loved to of been a part of the early days.

Joey: Yep. Hey, what do you say we make it a double feature?
Chandler: What'd you rent?
Joey: Die Hard 2.
Chandler: (looking at the tape) Joey, this is Die Hard 1 again.
Joey: Oh, well we watch it a second time and its Die Hard 2!
Ross: Joey, we just saw it!
Joey: And?
Ross: And it'll be cool to see it again! Yeah!
Joey and Ross: Die Hard!!!!!!
stop all the i bummed red threads, cos they just serve to illustrate this is more of a clique of old mates than an open forum.
banner advertise on other sites. get a counterstrike clan going. get a folding team going. write something thats useful, like a facebook app that uploads what youre listening to when youre not even logged onto facebook.
Matt
i knew it would finally happen.. a real reply ;)
but yeah they are all fair points
noooo not counterstrike
vegas on the 360 or gears of war or somethin
Id vote for a Battlefield 2 one on the 360 and a Vietcong one on PC!!! :D

seconded!
too much prominance placed on photography in the second one but its looking good :)
Not bad but wouldnt it be better to have them consistent with the logo/theme here? Or vice versa?
forget attracting any new members untill we have some half decent forum software.
All the most stable and feature packed forums I use, use vBulletin.

because its the most stable. I use it myself because ive tried various ones and overall it gives me the least problems, with the most benefits. If there are issues with the server not supporting it then ive got about 100Mb of webspace doing nothing at the moment, though the URL would need to be masked.
vBulletin costs money and Jforum is free?
Quote from: BaconvBulletin costs money and Jforum is free?
vBulletin costs ~ £70 per year, ot about £100 for a lifetime licence, and £25 a year for updates IIRC. I only look at the price when im renewing my updates subscription. In the past 2 years since ive been running it I had zero database crashes. the Invisionboard im also involved with flakes out at least once a month, and its got less users.
IPB any1??
Quote from: Binary ShadowIPB any1??
its not bad, but invisionboard isnt as good as vB, and costs the same amount.
