I see your point there

IIRC *technically* in the UK jews are a race and can be protected under racial discrimination laws(there are of course obvious historical reasons for this)- though in reality jewish people come from a variety of different backgrounds

the point Im interested in getting across though is that the father was getting mad due to knowledge that his daughters BF doesnt share their common religious views - he wasnt getting upset about his genetic make up or actual race therefore not racist. If the father was a catholic and getting upset that his daughter was dating a jew then that could technically be racist with the whle jew=race thing though in reality the reasoning behind it would be the same.
