Reminds me of a plotter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plotter) :D I have an old one belonging to an old IBM 286 machine

I thought the same thing Bear, my Dad used to have a Roland 8 pen A3 plotter when I was little. I used to be facinated by watching it draw plans and the like because it often seemed to draw in a very counter intuitive order, for instance getting halfway through writing a word before going off and drawing a tree, then coming back and finishing the word.

One of those pieces of technology where I know conceptually that large format Inkjet is superior, but the old pen plotters were so much more fun.
