Title: New Bathroom
Post by: neXus on January 02, 2007, 20:57:29 PM
Mum and dad have spent a fair bit of money and done up the bathroom and my dad has more or less did all of it himself with me helping with my one hand when I can and mum doing the grouting for example

I been dead chuffed with my dad, took him a while but he has done a great job, even did all the plumbing which to that extent he has not done before.

Missing the bath and its taps (on the side along the wall not on the ends)

The blue lights sit along the side of the batroom, great for midnight pee trip to not blind you and nice for mums to be in the bath in the womens style quite bath time.

The box the bowl is on for example - Ã,£300 LOL
The loo role holder - Ã,£35 ^^

Bet you could fix one up for a tenner using MDF and wood effect wall paper.

True but It probably would not be waterproof, and be able to take the weight of the tap and the bowl ^^

lol like a show bathroom :) good going.

My dad plumbed in our bathroom, but its more of a functional thing than a thing of beauty.

Personally Id not want to pee in that bathroom, I might miss the loo and find myself peeing on the lowlights :D lol electrocution!!! :D

It was funny, those tiles are thick and hard as hell, He tried to drill one and did not even dent it, he had to buy a diamond tip drill bit for screw holes and a large one for pipe holes I tell you it took him ages just to drill one at a time, lol.

also it had the loft roof in there and not any more roof was done and he moved the hole to the hall with a pull down ladder as well, he really did some good work I am impressed.

He went to get a plumber to do the hard stuff but he never got back to him properly so he buggered it and only got a plaster in to do the roof and walls.

New upstairs doors are on order apperently

I think one of the buttons above the toilet is to print idiot money, it feeds out from the base of the mirror.

Does look bloody smart though, Liam  :D

Fancy! Nice commode and basin! Im not too keen on the tile, looks institutional, but I have a feeling thats due to the photo and it looks better in person.

Bathrooms are a fantastic place to spend money, especially if youre thinking about selling a place.

Couple of layers of yacht varnish and it would be waterproof. As for taking the weight a couple of hidden mild steel brackets would be enough for that.

Most of those things are made out of MDF anyway, it all depends on the glue used to hold the fibres together. Actually it looks like its been laminated like a kitchen worktop.

Im starting the Bathroom after finishing the kitchen in my new house/renovation project. Going for one of those Shower/Steam/Sauna Cubicle things on Ebay.. can pick em up for Ã,£1k - Who uses a Tub these days anyway? 10mins in the shower is plenty. Cant remember the last time I filled a bath up for a relaxing soak.

Real ale in bottles costs a little more but I certainly wouldnt pay that.

You can always put a mini fridge in the doorway.

That website is expensive for it, but those Philips doobryfirkins are a massive hit on the continent (kegs are on ebay for a much more reasonable price ;) )

Was about to say.. Much cheaper on the continent. I buy a lot of stuff from Germany. Suprising how much you can save. Even their Delivery is as cheap as ours & arrives Promptly. I ordered an Item on Boxing Day (bank holiday) - It turned up Yesterday!!!! Good old germans eh?

Absolutely superb company to deal with. I also tried buying kegs from abroad, 3 out of the 6 kegs I bought had a problem, two of them the beer was flat, the third one tasted awful because it had gone off. I never did get my money back.

Since then Ive  bought over 50 kegs from the UK company perfectbeers.com and never had one problem apart from one keg missing a pipe which they sent out immediately next day.  :D

Highly recommended product  :D

Beermonster - I did exactly the same and ended up out of pocket. The european websites send the worst kegs over Im sure, after three purchases from different internet companies I had problems almost every time and no refunds, no replacements, some just ignore your emails for weeks :(

I use perfectbeers now - no problems - and absolute perfect beer every time AND perfect service as well!  :D

Regards,
TG

Buying beer in those kegs costs about Ã,£1.40 per pint (for the cheaper Ã,£15 kegs). So, after a large initial outlay you still pay not far off pub prices per pint!

Hmmmm, if it workd out at can prices or below it would be cool, well would be cool anyway but it would be affordable and cool!

Its a little bit shorter than a normal long bath but then again a normal bath wouldnt fit into the bathroom... You can lie down in it providing you stick your knees up...

TBH its far bigger and better than my brothers was before he went back to a standard one.
