Title: Online banking with Barclays
Post by: Rivkid on May 22, 2007, 10:28:43 AM
Ok rant time!

Jesus what a hassle this was! I first registered years back when it was new and they never sent me login details. I didnt really chase but a few times over the past few years Ive requested new logins but theyve never arrived (despite always checking the address). Last week I thought Id try again so requested new details - got a new passcode and membership number but not a new memorable word. I phoned the helpline who told me I was asked to put one in when I requested new passcode - umm... no I wasnt. Of course the call center probably has about a million ppl a day with the same problem so of course Im wrong (despite only having 3 words I ever use for such things and it was none of them...) so theyve had to order me a NEW passcode and apparently when I log in with it it will ask me to enter a new memorable word.

So either they wont send me a new passcode, or the system still wont give me a new memorable word - either way I have no faith in Barclays - or the useless Indian robot woman at the call center - making this work whatsoever....

I done mine, but I have again forgot the stupid word becase you never enter the word you enter 4th, 1st 2nd letter and so you can forget the word.

Im with Barclays and it is a pain indeed :/

Barclays was the first bank I got an account with, I left to join the TSB as their service was better :)

Am presently with the nationwide but Im contemplating moving, the nearest branch is a mile away and there are other options just around the corner...

IMO Abbey have the best online banking, Nationwide has been much improved too.

Coupled with Egg money manager, keeping track of finances is a piece of cake.
