Tekheads.co.uk Support Forums have returned after talks with Andy, they are now showing at the base of the forums and easily collapsible for those not interested in reading these sections (if its really wanted I could enable the 'ignore forum' option in admin).

I know it was under-used previously but they are going to have a new drive with this on the new software and hopefully we will soon have a banner at the top and some some exclusive forum member discounts

Hi everyone

I would just like to say, good work to Nige, Sam and the team for getting the forums updated. Im sure the move back to its proper name rather than me registering an emergency name when we lost the co.uk is a step in the right direction.

Thanks Andy.

Shofty, it's never been about need. It does bring more traffic to the site and this is foremost a geek haven, not Bigforums. It's not like hosting the support forums for something completely unrelated. As Andy has already said he's going to offer member discounts I really don't see the problem as there's still a lot of loyal customers here.

Have you got a good reason why you don't need want them here?

Not sure about your Avatar Andy,
Looks like your saying Tekheads is a place for people who badly modify their cars and paint their bonnets black either as a fake fake fake carbon or crash damage.

Not sure if this is in the process of being updated or something but the old address is just showing site not currently available?

I assume someone is going to add a "we have moved" thing to the page, so our own users can actually find us? Or are we just going to lose a bus load again?

It should be getting redirected when the DNS updates and everyone should have received a newsletter informing them about the change

Put it back :D  I just have a grudge with matt black painted bonnets.  For me it's the same as running with your fog lights on ALL THE DAMN TIME and tights over lights.

they dont fit.

this place doesn't need them for traffic.
it doesn't need them to pay its way.
tek proved they dont monitor the forums very regularly on the old spot.
its not the place to complain about a graphics card not working and when customers did, the support staff didn't deal with it very well. there are many many tools on the web for that relationship to be built and improved and a support forum on tek is not it.

how many of the people who actually went thru the pain of registering to post in the support forums are about and still contributing? i reckon if we pick the people who posted in the support section and check others ections they've posted in, none of them will have touched the regular forums. you say it does bring traffic, but that traffic is all complaints about delivery or failures or products of which we have no influence.

they make it look like we are affiliated. we aren't. are we?

whats the benefit? yesterday we we re leaving them behind us, all of a sudden its changed. why? what forced your hand? prior agreement? money? free gfx cards?

It's how it used to be in the good old days, but we had people that cared about the other enthusiasts.  I'm not saying that the current owners don't, but when it was me, Andy C, John etc working there we all cared what you guys thought.  Same with Nige, although we never actually worked together.

Lets see if they can pick up and run with it.  For Tekheads to use this properly as a support medium, it should be checked hourly.  Make the outside world see that your making an effort to ensure that all support routes are covered.  People will try and communicate with you in a way they feel comfortable, try and accommodate them.  The more angles you can cover the better.

I personally wouldn't use a forum for support, but I also wouldn't telephone unless I was hella cross.  Some people I deal with you can't get them off the phone.

If a customer complains that they can't get hold of you, don't give them a link to the contact us page, give them a telephone number or an actively monitored email address.

Consider how you would like to be treated.  Granted, 99% of the general public are complete f**king idiots but humour them.

I don't mind them being there, as long as they pull their finger out and support them  We've all done it, felt like we've been wronged by a company or sold short and gone to other forums to tell out plight.  Be the forum that they come to and see that you care.

I think we need a

Damnit, who keeps telling people about the cool sh*t?

First it was the "Inner circle", now it's the free money and graphics cards....We've got our own Assange in the ranks.  Arm thine smite buttons lads.
