:)

Im changing from Fast24 at the end of this month! :)

Need a provider that doesnt have a cap, and also has high speeds.

However they also need to have "cheap" lower cost plans available, as when I move out from home in September, my parents will only want a lowcost affair.

Short contract term is ideal, Fast24 is currently a monthly one. So that length would suit me perfectly.

Telewest?

get the phone(free weekends), 2Mb Internet and the TV Package for Ã,£30.  If you want evenings and weekends then its Ã,£35.  Speed seems reasonable to me.  Their CS Departments needs some training however.

Pipex now saying i could get 4mb to my house when before i can just manage to get 1mb, so hopefully the exchange has had some work done to it. I have allready asked about testing etc to check this.
Would be nice to get 4mb.

Pipex: Always very good, bar some issues which were related with bt and my exchange and downtime, I have never found fault with Pipex. They were slow offering upgrades and not the cheapest but they are very good..

Cable is not going to happen here.

They have Sky Digital and they rarely use the housephone for outgoing calls, and my dads work pays a large percentage of the phone bill to cover any business calls my dad makes.

So ADSL providers only :)

Im against going for pipex or nildram mainly because if ever there is an issue... its with them. The posts about crap internet access and so on were always about Pipex or Nildram.

The reason im changing from fast24 is because of the lack of upgrades, its a datastream isp and of the crap customer service. I just dont trust them.

pipex??? i was with them for 3yrs and dont remember any probs

yeah. Could be due to their popularity but they used to have posts placed normally in the nildram threads about poor connection saying "yeah same here too" or similar.

Looking at plusnet broadband premier option 1. The cap isnt so bad... and they offer free setup, and monthly contracts.

Rather impressed. Also drastically cheaper than BTs own offering and most others out there.

Serious

Pipex might be a little expensive but they have always supplied the goods for us. Good steady 1Mbit dowload speed.

Sounds like bulldog would be ideal for you.

1 month contract, cheap options available and the possibility of high speeds while you are there.

Youd have to change your phone line to bulldog tho dont know if thats possible for you?

Im with plusnet.  No complaints at all, started off paying Ã,£23 for 512k years ago.  They bumped us up to 2mb for free a while back, and are going to stick us on the 8mb service in the next few weeks.

The cap is fine by me too, as Im normally up after 12 so ill stick my downloads on then :)

Last I heard was next few months..
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Pipex? http://www.pipex.net/

I would have said Zen also, however Zen have now introduced caps on their service (unless you either go for the cheapo 256kb service or the business package).

Im on the old 2mbit Zen package, which has always been excellent. Unfortunately you cant get these anymore.

Keconnect

Compare them on the ADSL Guide to whoever you want and KeConnect will be better,

When we move house thats who were going with.

Another vote for pipex.  Not exactly the cheapest option but I never had a reason to call customer support in time I have been with them.
