"When dinosaurs were originally created" meaning before original sin Serious, when everything was happy and cuddly in the garden of eden. (Apart from the damned snake, obviously).

Trouble is Im not sure god is really worried about us sinning otherwise there would be a lot more instant penalties for doing it. As for the original sin he damn well knew it was going to happen so it was all his own fault, should have put hooge flames around the tree of life before he started.

Actually the perfection before original sin is definitely a misconception, Adam certainly wasnt the first man if you take the bible as fact. On the sixth day god made man - it doesnt say he made Adam on the sixth day, he was made later. It doesnt say that all the animals were in the garden of Eden or that they lived together harmoniously or they didnt have their lamb dinner or whatever so any outside the garden can kill and eat each other - no problem.

Its still frightening when around half of his base are apocalyptic evangelicals that literally think that hes sent by God to lead. This is no joke and its not hysteria. They are hell bent on making this a theocracy.

What I dont get is why they hate the Islamic fundamentalists so much, as theyve got much in common.

There are a smattering of current GOP office holders that are distancing themselves from Bush, but then you have usually sane right wingers like senator McCain (R Arizona) that are still Bush apologists.

The people stepping forward, writing books, and doing the talk show circuit warning about Bush, that are also Republicans, are pre-Reagan conservatives--and theyre smart enough to be terrified.

A big concept with the looney end of the right is the idea of a "permanent GOP majority" which is just a nice way of saying "theofascism".

Same for the Islamic Fundamentalists and the Jews. Until the end of WW2 the same applied to Christians and Jews.

Hitler wasnt the first to persecute, deport and murder the Jews, that was the English and it happened a very long time ago. Edward 1st limited their ability to work, taxed them into abject poverty, forced them to wear a yellow star and then in 1290 ordered the survivors to be expelled, an unknown number were murdered enroute. France expelled its Jews in 1306.

They were not allowed back into England until 1656.
