Title: sh*ttylink again
Post by: Bacon on January 14, 2009, 19:03:28 PM
Placed an order with Scan yesterday, goods dispatched on time. Today i ring the depot for estimated delivery time and im told out of my consignment of 2 parcels, there is only 1 on the van, the other has gone missing, great my case arrived today but the most expensive parcel is missing.

I would be shocked, but after dealing with this company with my old company on an hourly basis, im just not surprised, its silly that its been 3 years since i was dealing with them and they have not changed, still losing parcels, still dont have a good tracking system in place, still dont recruit capable staff who know how to read tickets.

/Rant over.

I had a terrible experience with them a couple of months ago. the f**kers didnt even try to find my house. my house is up a driveway on a terraced street, so its not on the road per se. But the driveway has a sign at the bottom pointing to the friggin house FFS, seems that everyone except city link are able to find the house but not them.
what i couldnt believe tho was that they couldnt find the house but then said theyd tried to deliver and no1 was in. Needless to say I was fuming.

Its crazy that couriers can still use the "cant find address" excuse. The point is

A) Maps
B) Satnav
C) The internet
D) Local knowledge, or is this no longer a pre req?

Its quite simply a priority for anyone in the courier or taxi business to know where they are going.

The same can be said for misplaced parcels, that is the job after all, collecting and delivering parcels :P

Agreed. When i worked for royal mail the thought that ud take a parcel back cause u cant find the address doesnt occur to you. Mainly cause you know the routes like the back of ur hand. The only time it does happen is when the address is incomplete.

but on the other hand the place i worked was full of people who knew their job. Im sure there are similar horror stories with RM, i guess its like people say, a postcode lottery

Scan have informed me i now have to wait 48 hours under terms until they can release replacement items.

That means i placed the order on Monday, a stock issue pushed it back to tuesday, and if i am lucky my replacement order may get sent out tommorow.

Annoyed, just a little, i asked for a refund, and was told 7-10 days just to process my refund, its ridiculous, next time i will drive 100 miles to Bristol and buy my items from Novatech, as that is the nearest normal priced store to me.

A whole week off, and i have not built my new system.

And what are chances this had to happen to me.....

Its Scan that is prolonging this now. They would not reship until a full 48 hours has passed.
