Spent £100 on 3 pairs of shoes over the last 3 months and none of them have fit me. :dunno:
All i can think of is due to the recession manufacturers have decided to be tighter with sizing and size 12 are now 11s etc, cant really believe it, upto last year i could easily find size 12s to fit.
I know my feet haven't got any bigger cus i can still wear my old size 12s fine.
Sure its not a brand thing? I know when I buy shoes I need a smaller size than I do in trainers, and sometimes need a different size between trainer manufucturers.
Its best to try shoes on, you never know what size they are manufactured to.
I would guess shoes are manufactured to European or American size & then rebadged to the nearest UK Size...
or simply badged to US size which is anything between 1 & 1.5 size difference
I've been tempted to pop upto Clarks Village when i get paid because its not that far away from me.
Hopefully i will find some shoes in stock to fit, as their is nothing local to me.
I don't know where you are but the Clarks factory shop at Bicester Village has always been a good bet for me.
I bloody love Bicester Village. Been trying to get enough spare cash together to make a trip worthwhile from London (no car, only public transport).
Ive been bitten a couple of times by online ordering of shoes. I now dont order a) shoes or b) sunglasses online unless Im absolutely sure I can take them back to a store close to me or I have tried the exact brand and size on first.
Should have seen the state of me in some of the sunglasses ive had delivered, im a sucker for a 'bargain'.

I sold one of my 360s to someone in Bristol, i think it was Shakey, he lives up that way too :D
Bit surprised to find out we have a few members down this way, i distinctly remember thinking i was quite the loner around these parts. :w00t:
Shakey and I were at Uni together up in Nottingham, then after we left he moved down your way. I think as the long term regulars have got older we've scattered round the country more.
Can see how Bicester might be a bit of a trek for you!! lol, I thought it was a long shot but I've had such good luck getting shoes there it seemed worth a mention.
I need to give Bicester a go. I've been to the Swindon place a couple of times but it's pretty crap.
Portsmouth is good :) :ptu:
Not wood but rubber all the way, never leave home without them :)

Portsmouth's pretty good for stuff, what with all the outlet stores around here and towards Southampton way, I guess it depends which shoes you're buying but being female I can get mine pretty much anywhere.
I brought a pair of leather look boots a couple of months ago off ebay, and although they do fit and are comfy enough you know that they're just not going to live for a great deal longer. But I guess that's what you get when you want to spend less than £20 on them... next I intend to buy a proper pair of doc martins though, so I know they'll live!

If it's a long lasting pair of Doc Martens you want then have a look at the lifetime range. Admittedly they only do the standard boots in fairly standard colours and they are more expensive but they are much more solidly built than a regular pair and you get a lifetime warranty for wear and tear, just send your boots back and they send you a new pair.

As long as we don't run into any midgets or racist bouncers we'll be alright! :ptu:

I've always wanted the old school pairs, the black ones that are pretty high-topped. I know they're like £100+, but I know they're not going to fall apart after wearing them a few times (which a pair of shoes my mum brought me for christmas actually did). The for life range seems pretty good, it would be nice to just keep getting them replaced (:

The last 3 pairs i bought before lasted me about 6 months, one of them was £50 but shoes just aren't built like they used to be.
My brother has a habit of destroying trainers in about a 5 month period, but he does a lot of training and stuff, and also according to the people at the nike outlet runs 'wrong' so he has to get these special trainers probably do nothing but just cost about £50 more...

My better half has had them replaced a few times. She has a shelf full of different flavours of DM's but you can really tell that the lifetime ones are a bit tougher and more durable to begin with even without the lifetime warranty.
