It isnt hosting porn, nope.
Whats very hard to read? the whole thing? or just the logo?
the font isnt very clear, could just be the image compression though.
I would avoid using such a vibrant colour as a main body background, you can use vibrant colours just not as a main body
http://www.onewingedangel.co.uk
something darker reduces the overall glare
It hurt my eyes a fair bit.
yeah, I agree with sweenster
plus... it doesent look porfesional, looks cheap and tacky :(
edit:
go look at some other hosting companies sites ;) ;)
Simple is better. A logo, then black on white text is better. Theres a reason online newspapers are still black on white for readability. It doesnt have to be absolute black on absolute white, you just should avoid colors with too much intensity and saturation for the body of a page. Those that prefer light on dark--just highlight the passage you want to read, and itll invert for ya. ;)
And ditch the drop shadow on the text.
TBH the others are right, it looks like how you would expect a site advertising a particularly tacky brothel might look.
This is ugly but easy to read
https://www.one.com/
^^not that ugly, just concise and tight. I like it. ^^
I have an 1000mb account there they havnt failed yet I on my second year there they upped from 500 to 1000 with no change in fee.
Hmmm Glad I didnt finish it, I think Ill use a grey background with black writing. Well, Ill see how it looks
^^
it would be wrong of me to cugest finding a nice looking webhosting page and ripping it off ;) ;)
Yes, it would be. I want my own design tbh.
Some people can design, others can code.
Personally I use www.oswd.org for all my design needs :) free templates for anything you want to do with them :)
thats a good side that, thanks!
Pretty much what the rest have said the background colours are too bright and stick out far too much for a hosting company something less in your face would be ideal.
Also I agree with Serious about removing the drop shadow from the menu text it makes it look out of place.
Another gripe is the menu font (if thatââ,¬â,,¢s the one your going to use?) id go with something simpler as it looks more like a font you would use in a forum signature or logo than menu text.
What do you guys think of this?
Quickly put together? The colours are a lot darker though.
I dont want this to be just a place for gamers to get their hosting, Id be trying to appeal to a business or 2 too :)

Im thinking of having an onmouseover thing so when I go over the menu items theyll go with a high light or somthing.
Looks too gamery and dark if you want to appeal to businesses.

LOL, I read that as if it was pronounced One Wingey Dangle :)

Although I could add some brighter colours in the website and it might appeal to some more people... Ill put somthing together...
ok refresh...

The word "here" highlighted at the left is what I was talking about with the highlight if I have an "on Mouse Over" effect.
I think the black text looks to dark on there
I think the colour of the middle package looks the best on there.
one thing i will say is use a standard font, doesnt have to be times etc but a standard font type is much easier.
Also means you can actually have ALOT less images on your site
i get annoyed with sites with 101 images on the main page that takes days to load.
Biggest thing about web atm, keep it simple, but keep usability
defenatly need to keep it simple... and why not a white background ?
quick flick through my favorites and these are nice looking sites, with the look you should be going for..
tekheads (http://www.tekheads.co.uk/s/index)
auction sniper (http://www.auctionsniper.com/)
local sinima times (http://www.cineworld.co.uk/reservation/ChoixResa.jgi?CINEMA=53)
co-op bank (http://www.co-operativebank.co.uk/servlet/Satellite?cid=1075277295851&pagename=CoopBank/Page/tplPageCarousel&c=Page)
etc.. etc..
all the big profesional sites are clean and simple...
less is more ;)

What do you think?
Not enough contrast between text and background, people with poor sight will have problems.
Looks like it was done for Quicksave. You definitely want some colour.
But its better than the other monochrome ones.
Remember: Sites tend to look similar cause those formats are what works best.
Lastly, just to compare the two styles you have put up, would you prefer going into Draculas castle or a brothel?
If draculars castle was a brothel, then thatd be perfection!

Not if the countess gives you a nasty bite on your item...
