Title: So, just bought a house...
Post by: zpyder on July 31, 2014, 16:40:01 PM
Any recommendations for a good, not expensive, fibre internet provider?

Also going to need to look in to all the other services, but internet is most important ;)

Looking on comparison websites they all seem a bit scammy, the cheapest options, once you do the maths, working out a fair bit more over 12 months!

From my experience, Virgin are the cheapest by far IF you are also getting a TV subscription.

I'm having to move away from Virgin with my next house move, haven't yet found anything that compares in price and speed.

last time I looked, plusnet was the cheapest non scummy one

iirc, plusnet have some deal with BT, so BT do there fibre support / customer service... or something like that ?

I'm with PlusNet, their introductory offers are cheap but the price goes back to normal after a bit. Service is good though, I have no complaints, I've only had any downtime once in about 6 months.

Is there really much difference between them price wise?

Just sign up for virgin and don't worry about saving 10 pence a year with ScouserNet.

Not too fussed about TV...considering being cheapskates and not watching Live tv/having a licence!

Going with plusnet I think. 80mbps, much faster than the 6 I get at the moment...

Never had any issues with virgin, but yeah their limited uploads can sometimes be a bit annoying
