The above is a closeup view of a piece of printed paper. On every modern colour laser printer a yellow dot "raster" is left on every sheet printed.

Identifying the time and date of the print, the model of the printer, the serial number of the printer.

Incidentally what the hell do you call paper that reacts to light? like... thermal (thermochromic) but light.

photochromic is the same thing for glasses so i am guessing that is the term for paper

Sounds a bit old wives to me.

Nah its been standard for a good while.  Theres a lot of weird stuff in photocopiers etc, like if you try and copy a bank note, modern ones tend to do funny things :D

The older photocopiers became popular for a while until they changed the pattern of notes to make them difficult to copy.
