Is there any way to turn them off in our profiles? Ive been on forums that use them before and its just another thing for the sad gits with no life to collect alongside post-counts.
I have to admit that while I like having full stars, I dont think they add anything, seeing as I havent got them for my posting merits!
Its just a popularity contest, and those people who actually dare to voice real opinions or post controversial stuff get a lower "star rating" just because others disagree.
Also, the other day I saw a post by a mod telling someone to downsize an image being voted 1 star, and then the cheeky reply by the offender given 5. Not quite right, is it?

They had them on star wars galaxies forums at the start, then it got silly with people just 1 star spamming posts, or 5 star spamming random posts.
They then removed the feature as a result.

I remember those getting banned very quickly when everyone started slapping everyone else in the playground, they replaced the slaps with a tango man who gives you a cheeky nose pinch. 8)

People rate your posts by clicking the the empty stars in the above right of your post.
TBH I dont use them and would like to see a return of a the post count bars we had on the old forum if its possible at all.
Its actually a little pull down menu on the bottom left. Somewhere along there -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------V
bottom right corner of the post, says rate in it...
dont think they serve much purpose though,
if they where ratings in specific areas (like in hardware for good hardware advice) they might be ok.
not much point in them but they do brighten up the screen.

Simple answer: no.
Mods cant see who rated them or anyone else either and its probably the same for Admins too, although they might be able to scan the databases to find out.
TBH I would prefer it if the system could be disabled, there are plenty of more important things than the ratings system anyway.
