Title: Starting to be more like Privateer
Post by: Serious on January 08, 2015, 04:10:01 AM
Eight days into 2015 and 3 falls so far :/

Worse I tried his 'fall helmet' option, just made my already bad sinus/tension headaches worse (I didn't think that possible). Thankfully no bad injuries as yet, a small cut on scalp and bruised elbow.

Most of my time at present is spent asleep - the rest I'm ridiculously tired.

and the government want me to go and be assessed by ATOS (read stinking French ripoff group). Yeah, it's the Guardian, not my preferred source of good info, but it's accurate for once

both the articles referred to the Atos Assessor as doctors.
AFAIK they are not doctors & probably not even medically trained.
They are box tickers.

You really do need to over exaggerate any issues.
They will tick a box if you can touch your toes for example or extend your arms.
If you feel ANY pain or discomfort, stop & don't force yourself to complete the task. They dont care if you can do the task by pushing yourself or grinning & bearing it.

I had to go for an assessment a few years ago when my knee blew up & I couldn't walk for months for months.
Guess where the assessment office is? or the obstacles in the way of getting to the assessment office.
2 flights of stairs before you can use a lift & an office that is over 100m away from the nearest car park.

Its all part of the assessment. I wasnt looking for DLA or anything like that, just had to prove I was unfit for work.
Funny how I was assessed before the NHS could tell me what my problem was! I had a bucket tear in my meniscus.

Its a box ticking exercise & they add the numbers up at the end.

Well that's over with. Now I have to wait to find out if I need to go to appeal

Good luck man, I can't imagine how difficult it must be.

Got the result, seems I'm back on permanent for a bit. Not that I really want to be, I'd really like to be out working.
